Sixteenth Memory [video]

[Compared to the last time Misaki's shown her face on the network, the young woman looks rather tired and perhaps lazy about her appearance than usual, only wearing her black dress and a messy ponytail. There seems to be a bunch of eggs behind her with her Ninetails tending to a couple of them in the back ground.]

I really need to cut my hair... [She quietly complained to herself as she tried to get a long strand out of her face.]

[When she noticed the video feed was on, she quickly regained her composure and cleared her throat before she began speaking.]

Hello, I have a couple of eggs for sale and I'd appreciate if they were to go to a good home. The eggs I have at the moment are Buneary, Druddigon, Feebas, Houndour, Nidoran, Pidove and Vulpix. They all have a set price on them but if the prices gives you trouble, I'll be willing to numb it down to your satisfaction.

That is all, thank you.

[She shuts if off at that point because there's not really anything else to say and she's kind of ashamed of her current appearance.]

If you're going to talk about something like this, please keep it private. I...don't really like talking about it in public.

[She tucks a long strand of hair behind her ear.]

But no they didn't. Unless you count my Banette but he just likes to mess with everything.

[Clementine cringes, then gives a slow and deliberate nod with her lips pursed.] That makes sense -- I'm sorry...

[She recovers a little.] It's just that one of my friends told me I should always keep my hair short just in case the walkers tried to grab it. [Sheepish twitch of a smile. Sheepish out of inarticulate self-consciousness at the fact that she tried to turn this into a point of bonding, but alas.] ...You think it'll help with your Banette, a little?

((OOC: Ohh, rats, I apologize for the delete and re-post down there! Something had seemed to be glitching on my end until just now.))

[Her face softens.] It's ok, you didn't know.

[Sorry Clementine. Misaki's just being serious little punk today with all the eggs, traveling and Menma going home.]

That is good advice your friend suggested though and makes good sense. [She seems to acknowledge the 'attempted-bonding' part and finds it understandable, considering they haven't spoken in a while.] It might help but he'll find something else to mess with like he usually does. Are any of your pokemon the same way?

[The change in tone is enough to reassure Clem.]

They're not with me. But my Farfetch'd and my Nidoqueen like fighting with the others. With my Marowak Lee. ...She helped me catch Carley, my Nidoqueen. I think they're kind of like rivals, though they're nice about it. And my Kenny likes swordfighting with her - they use their stick and their bone.

They pick on my Furret sometimes, though. Especially Kenny. [She makes a bit of a grimace that is less distressed than awkward.] I think it's because of me... My Furret was my second-ever Pokémon, but Kenny's level is higher than his is, and I got him as an egg.

You look fine, though. [ he says with the clueless honesty of a guy who doesn't think too far into these things. ]

... They lay eggs too? [ sorry, he's new and doesn't like reading... ] That's a lot of eggs...

Um thanks? [A bit awkward.] I'm just not used to having my hair this long.

Yes, pokemon lay eggs. [Even the mammalistic ones.] To be honest, it's not that much compared to what I've seen. I had a friend who's had at least 100 in her bunch before.

... It's probably harder to find somebody to get a haircut here than back home, huh?

[ there's a pause as he processes this new information. ] One... hundred of them. That has to be on purpose, right?

That and I haven't had the time lately. [Mostly the first part.]

Um, yes. She is a breeder trainer so it's kind of her job.

It's fine if you leave it like that, though... like I said, it looks fine. [ then, to prove he is just a Clueless Teenage Guy: ] It's just hair, after all.

... So there are different kinds. Are you a breeder, too?

[If Misaki were as vain and nit picky as she was a while back, she would've kept talking about her hair...but she just shrugged that off.]

No, I'm not. If I were, I would've had a bunch more eggs with me. I'm just a simple trainer that's all.

You must be new around here, are you?

Yeah. I guess it must be kinda obvious, huh. [ he might be staring at her Ninetails a little... it's really beautiful, but also evokes some uncomfortable imagery... ]

... Your Pokémon... is it supposed to be a nine-tails? Like from the legends?

Judging by your lack of knowledge about breeders, I assumed so. How long have you been here?

[She turns back a little to look back at her Ninetails, who seemed to be cuddling against a couple of the eggs.]

Well, she is technically called a Ninetails but not exactly the exactly the same creature in the legends., if what I'm saying makes sense.

[She gives a soft smile.] Tamamo's not like the ones I've read about. She's quite sweet and even motherly as you can see.

Just a few days. I think... five, now?

[ he nods -- he'd kind of figured it probably didn't eat human guts based on how alive Misaki is, but it never huts to know. ] That's good, then. I never thought I'd see an actual nine-tails, though...

Five days?

[She ponders for a bit.]

My Ninetails only produced one egg of her kind this month. Since You're fairly new here, I could give it to you at half price if you want.

[ he's taken a bit off-guard by that for a few moments, he might seem a tiny bit flustered ]

... Are you sure? That's really nice of you... if nobody else is interested in it, then I'd like it.

I'm more interested in making sure the eggs have a nice home to go to and I trust you enough to make sure that happens. I'd like to know how its doing though.

Ah... thank you. [ ... ] My name's Namsoon, I'm in Cherrygrove City right now.

[A beat.]

Hey, are you doing alright, Misaki? You seem a little more...down than usual? [It comes off as more of a question than a statement. Mostly because he's not sure if "down" is really the right word to use.]

Oh hello John. I'm fine really, just a little worn out really. [That and a person she was very fond of happened to have left a while ago.]

But I haven't talked to you in quite a while. How have you yourself been lately?

Oh, alright [He laughs a little sheepishly, scratching at the back of his neck.] Yeah sorry about that. We booked it out of Goldenrod pretty fast after the con. And since then it's just been lots of training, work, and sight-seeing pretty much.

So uh, I've been pretty good for the most part, yeah! [He's lost some of his closer friends too, recently. Shit sucks but...that's Johto for you.]

'Booked it out of Goldenrod'? [That saying was a bit strange but she kind of knew what he was saying.]

Where are you and the others at at the moment, if I may ask?

Yeah, we'd been stuck in Goldenrod for a while and people were just anxious to get a move on, you know? Plus we were kind of keeping some people in Pewter waiting so once the con was over it was just like 'go now go fast!!!' Which, incidentally, that is still where we are right now. Pewter.

[They have this horrendously bad habit of getting stuck in cities for stupid amounts of time...]

[She chuckled a bit.] I see what you mean. I guess that would be my reason too for heading to Kanto.

Are you planning to do some kind of badge run later on?

Well at this point I only need Fucshia, Cinnabar, and Viridian's badges now. I came over here a few times last year for a couple different reasons and started getting them out of order. That's kind of what we are doing now though since some of my friends don't have any of their Kanto badges yet. Simultaneously sight-seeing and badge-collecting.

[Cheery Pokemart music comes through from his side of the video, and it's easy enough to see where he is from all the shelves.]

Would you like anything from the Pokemart before I come back to the room?

[Misaki gave a sigh as she undid her hair.]

I don't know if I already told you this but a friend of mine left a while ago. I'm still kind of down about it. [She wasn't close to the girl or anything but Misaki was very fond of the girl. If she were any closer, Misaki wouldn't even show her face on the network for a good while.]

That's very kind of you but I don't really need anything. [She looks over to the pile of eggs behind her.] Would you want me to keep one of the eggs for you?

Oh...I am very sorry. I didn't know.

[He'd looked a little concerned before, but now he definitely looks moreso. And while he doesn't say it, he decides to finish his shopping quickly so that he might get back to the hotel faster. Nobody who's lost a friend ought to be alone, as far as he's concerned.]

I think I would like to keep one of them, though. [He's quiet for a bit as he thinks on which one.] ...Perhaps one of the Pidove eggs.

[She tries to give a reassuring smile.]

It's all alright really. I mean I didn't tell you in the first place after all.

One of Madoka's eggs? [She kind of had a surprised look on her face but she shrugged that off.] I'll keep note of that then. It'll be waiting for you here then.

[He nods.] Yes, one of hers. I will be back soon.

[He tries smiling reassuringly back, but he can't help still looking concerned. He hangs up so that he'll have both hands to continue his shopping, and it's not long at all before he's made his way back to the hotel.]

[When he gets to the room, he smiles at her again before he starts sorting out the few things he bought, mostly to keep his hands busy; it's pretty clear that most of his attention is on her.] Have you had any luck finding homes for the eggs?

[By the time Temeraire came in, Misaki had her hair brushed and her glasses on as she was writing down something on a piece of paper. She looked up at him when she heard his voice.]

Yes actually but only a few. I'm planning on sending them over to the people at the Center later.

Did you get what you needed at the Pokemart?

Yes, it was only a few things that I needed to get.

[He pauses, and is a little more hesitant when he next speaks.]

...will you be alright?

[She's looking better than she did over the video, but still.]

[Misaki looked up at the man as if he said something wrong and eventually gave a shrug.]

Yes, I will. [Assuming he's still worried about about her feelings over Menma leaving.] This isn't the first time I lost a fri - an acquaintance.

[Temeraire winces a little at the look, and lowers his head apologetically.]

It is still a terrible feeling, even when it is not the first time. But I will let it be, if you'd prefer.

[Misaki notices Temeraire's wincing and softens her voice, feeling a little guilty in her behavior.]

I'd like that. [Maybe one day she'll be able to talk about her feelings more freely.] I'm sorry if I was a little harsh.

It is alright, you aren't feeling well.

[He's quiet for a moment, but then gives her a small smile.]

Could you show me Madoka's eggs, so that I might pick one out?

[A thought hops into Clementine's head - her voice is soft, but she starts to get a little of a shy smile.]

Did - the ghosts ever try to pull your hair...?

[Well, Yayoi needed more pokemon. As much as she loves electric pokemon, she needs other types. A fire type is always good.]

Um, how much for a Houndour egg?
